Bio:

Kalyn Coatney spent a great deal of time in his youth on cattle ranches In Wyoming and Colorado and where he attended many horse and cattle auctions. The fast pace and strategic behavior of buyers left a lasting impression on him that has influenced his current research interests in game and auction theory. Coatney has taught classes in Game Theory, Agribusiness Management, and Price Analysis. He serves on several graduate committees within the department and has published in the top economics and agricultural economics journals. His practical experience includes serving as the Senior Economist for Grain Inspection Packers and Stockyards Administration and in several feedlot managerial roles for ConAgra.
