Barry Barnett's research interests focus on agricultural policy, risk management, and insurance. He writes extensively on U.S. commodity programs and crop insurance. In addition, he has an active research program related to disaster risk management in rural areas of developing countries. Dr. Barnett's research efforts are reflected in numerous articles published in scholarly journals as well as contributions to World Bank, OECD, and USAID publications. He also regularly conducts analysis and makes recommendations at the request of the Risk Management Agency of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Dr. Barnett teaches graduate courses in microeconomic theory and research methods.
